WTB: Simple NiMH Charger - 09.18.2008, 03:12 PM

My brother was visiting last weekend, and I think I got him hooked into R/C. Previously, his experience was just with Tyco-type stuff and he couldn't believe the acceleration and speed these things have.

Well, it was his b-day and all, and I had my Tamiya TB EVO sitting around, so I slapped a Traxxas XL-5, 1 Tital 12T motor, an Ofna Am tx/rx, and a set of GP3300's in it and gave it to him. Now he needs a charger. He said he had a 4 hour charger (a wall wart with a Tamiya plug), but I told him that was crap and forbid him to use it.

So, looking for an inexpensive NiMH charger that will do 6-7 cells at around 3-4A. Preferably AC or DC built-in so he doesn't have to mess with an external PS. I was looking at an MRC 959 or 960, but I have one for my son and the buttons are tempermental - they require me to push rather hard for them to work. Does anyone have a comparable charger they'd be willing to let go? PM if you do!
