I guess it really comes down to whether you are racing or bashing. For racing, quick change batteries come in handy, but it cleans things up and reduces weight to use a single pack.

If there was a problem running two packs people would be really PO'd! How many E-REVOs and E-MAXXs are out there with high power BL setups running 2 Lipos? I'm gonna say thousands just from the users on here! Where does 3.5 volts come into play? The minimum voltage for Lipo is 3.0v and most run the lvc at 3.2v per cell to allow a little safety margin. What is the weight savings of a single 5000mah 6s pack versus 2 5000mah 3s packs? I'm guessing it's only the weight of the extra connector and wire off the second pack.
