I like the sidewinder design for waterproofing. Pack the case with dielectric grease (completly so no air is trapped) then use liquid electrical tape to seal it up around the case and wires. Should be good to go then. With the motor you would need to grease the front bearing and run an oring between the pinion and inner bearing race. Use some good tape over the rear bearing and silicone the wires where they exit the can. You could also use hot glue, as it seems to stick better to smooth surfaces than silicone. P ack the reciever with dielectric grease and use the same grease on all plugs, including the main battery plug. Plasi-dip the battery and silicone the wires where they exit. Plasti dip the steering servo and use a greased o-ring between the horn on the top of the case.

I just went thru this with a brushed setup. I use the erevo rec box for the receiver and it works great. I'm running brushed and drilled a drain hole in the can at the very back and bottom so the muddy water can run out.
