nope... special chemicals will be needed to disolve the epoxy resin which currently keeps the windings in place. slightly different chemicals may disolve the enamel coating of the windings and render them useless. in this case, since the windings are already shorted somewhere [deep threaded screws i believe??], this might not be a problem.

winding it from the start to be as good as it came from the factory, will be very difficult. provided that the windings are [material-wise] as high quality as they should, it will be hard to fit them and align the iron laminations perfectly without [at least] the appropriate equipment. usually, the windings are hand-wound [or machine-wound] on an external rack that has been purpose-built for that job. then it is bath-ed with epoxy and when the epoxy cures it is fitted into the motor can [trimming the epoxy resin can be a pain in the neck however].


best case scenario is to ship it back to plettenberg. they will get it fixed but i suppose you will be charged some $...
