I see the Medusas as being the new entry level motor with slightly higher price but MUCH better performance/temperature characteristics than the previous entry level XL motors. The bang-for-the-buck is certainly high here. Yeah, you could get a Feigao (or equiv) motor, but for the money/performance ratio, Medusa would be the better choice. So, iIf you are just playing around, the Medusa can't be beat, and it's nice to have a motor that will fit anywhere a typical 36mm motor would.

For track running, a Neu (or Neu-derivitive) would probably be preferable for cooling and to handle the harsher conditions. Having a larger diameter, Neus will have more torque. And the finned case will keep it cool.
