George is correct, the wires out of the original neus are part of the windings and if you cut them down you may damage the motor and you will not be able to solder to the shortened wires because they have a varnish to protect the copper...


However if this is a castle neu you can shorten the wires...( I say this because there isnt really a reason to shorten the wires on the original neus, they are stubs already..



If you are trying to remove connectors or something, desolder them over chopping the wires.
