Yeah, the FLM mounting adaptor just bolted ontop the chassis plate, raising the tranny a little- the main problem seemed to be you were limited to smaller spur gears since the tranny sits lower inbetween the chassis braces- different shape to the old tranny obviously.

Anyway, I think its personal preference as to whether you go for the center diff or 3905 tranny- the CD gives better center of gravity, less weight, better handling and fewer weak points, but the 3905 tranny is good/better for a wider range of gearing options and requires less custom made parts compared to a whole new CD unit. Either way, you have crazy design and fabrication skills, so it wont be lacking in that area.

On the chassis length issue, my wheelbase is 14 inches, and overall length is 20.5 inches- thats pretty standard for most MTs and truggies roughly, so alot of those shells will fit without much work. I would look at the revo and savage type bodies sold by Pro-line and JConcepts, though 1/8 truggy bodies may work too.
