I gave deans a try in my truggy and wound up switching them to traxxas style. Second week of racing I had a deans come unplugged on me and that made up my mind. The deans are also harder to get together when doing a pitstop/battery swap in a hurry. The traxxas style are easy to line up and plug in. As far as soldering goes if you get solder past the line on a traxxas plug it's true they won't work, but 10 seconds with a dremel cleans them up just fine. I wouldn't mind seeing a 2.0 version or aftermarket traxxas plug that gives more room to solder and a bigger cover to allow bigger wire.
