I really have no idea until now that there was a procedure. I just did what was natural (whatever I felt like) until it worked. I used to hold down the button on the m11 module then turn the radio on, then hold down the little button on the rx and switch the esc on. Or if you have a few receivers to do at a time, a rx pack and switch come in handy, plus you can do it at the comfort of your desk, toilet, wherever you find the most convenient...
