You can get some SICK deals if you just spend a little time looking. Fully converted buggies and truggies sell for a bit more than their nitro counter parts but they are still cheap when comparing to buying new. I bought a RC8 nitro buggy for under $200 shipped from someone here on RCM, everything minus the electronics. Bought a brand new Hitec 7955TG servo for $90 elsewhere. Going to get some HC 4s Lipos and a 2200 CC motor and a conversion kit from mike for the RC8. Dunno how much 2200 CC motors sell for. So if I added it all up I'm looking at ~$700 from the ground up.
There are cheaper routes: Go with just a motor mount instead of the chassis kit, go with HC ESC and motor, could have bought an older 5955 servo. Going the cheaper route would have (or could) saved me $200 or more. But I already have a RC8T fully decked to my liking, I wanna make the buggy the same way
