What gearing are you running and what batteries? You may be overgeared and your batteries might not be able to supply the current. 5s on a 1515 1Y in a truggy no matter what gearing is going to be a speed machine and require lots of current.

However if everything remains the same except the esc swap it is most likely a bad connection or the esc is somehow gradually dying, although they usually just die!
