Yep, made sure the entire setup worked properly with a pair of matched 3s packs. I really think it is the series adapter that I am susing to link the 2 lba outputs together that is causing the issue.

I can get the 2 balancers to do the stand alone balancing, but as soon as i try to put them in connect mode it gives the error.

I will give your idea a try Brian, but think I will have to set the pack up as a 3 and a 4s, and then have a connector that will bridge them for series. That way I can remove the bridge and charge as 2 packs with the dual lba setup as it was intended to be used... Just a little more wiring, not too bad. Luckily their is a decent amount of room since I have removed the internal lvc/circuitry, so I can set something up there. Just need to find some samller than 13 gauge wire for charging, as the thick stuff will not fit the pack very well.
