yea it seemed geared way better for the track after small gear conversion, i believe the kyosho gear is plastic which is why many opt for it for quiet running and longer pinion life. there is some shimming involved to make the hot bodies pinion work and u also have to extend the flat spot a few milimeters. but its worth doing and gives u more gear options. i run the hotbodies ring and pinion set and a 46cr gear and a 14tpinion and find it great at the track. just dont swap the spurs without doing the ring and pinions as i ran it a week that way and ended up snapping my motor shaft. but yes i noticed more bottom end and responce after the ring and pinion conversion
