Welp, I reprogrammed the ESC and set the start power to "High". That seems to have alleivated my heat problems. I was driving it in a similar manner to what I was doing before, and temps were 160. I figure once I get a heatsink on there, I shouldn't have any more high temp problems at all.
And yes, the 4WD on the 18T is wonderful. It will still wheelie, but you can control it pretty easy. I'm probably going to drop a few teeth just for kicks to play with the torque, although it has quite a bit already. I've got the dirt hawgs tires on it, which run well on concrete and off road. It's a great little truck, and I intend to keep it a long time.
