Its a real blast to drive on 8 cells..I made a small lexan plate for my T2 which re-located the servo, allowing upto 9 cells flat down the middle. Yours should fly with a 5300 nicely, I would recommend picking up a Robinson Racing steel idler though, I started eating them on 8 and 9 cell batteries so I now have a steel idler and alloy diff gear turning up any day.

The T2 is easily my favourite chassis of 1:10 ST, very hard to damage anything, and aftermarket support for it is perfect (most RC10GT parts fit). Exactly what you want for a good basher.
