It's a good idea but unless you bash in an old golddust mine probably unnecessary, I waterproof my boat ESCs and RXs by totally encapsulating them with just flying leads and watercooling pipes sticking out (not good for the air cooled MMM) I have come in from several races to find a hole/split in the hull and the inside filled with water with all the electrics and wiring/plugs submerged, no grease on the plugs and its all been working just fine, just slower from the motor/coupler spinning under water and the boat weighing twice as much as normal.
