They're hit and miss. If you know a blockbuster employee or anybody at a video rental place they have "professional" resurfacers that can put life back in a pretty thrashed disc.

If you do buy one it's important it comes with a solution for doing the buffing, otherwise you're just scratching it more.

I love my cd's. MP3 was such a frickin' step backwards in sonic clarity. But the sheeple perfer convenience................
