I currently have 9 operational vehicles, one not, and one in the process. And unless I get into dire straights, I will not sell any just to make a few bucks. I look at it this way; this hobby keeps me busy and challenged, and hurts no one. I only spend my disposable income on it, so the bills are getting paid. Sure, if I didn't have this hobby (as well as smoking), I'd have quite a bit more cash, but it would only get eaten up with something else. I don't have a problem if my better half goes out and buys doilies, boots, jewelry, picture frames, or any other things I deem useless; it's her disposable income.
I would tell her a couple things if she is insistent:
1) Sacrificing works both ways; if you have to sell something, then she has to sell something of equal value.
2) R/C stuff has a very low resale value considering what is spent on it. If anything, tell her you won't get any more things, but selling what you already have makes no financial sense.
