It's a joke, just like our president and our congress. A ploy to gain more power for government under the guise of "helping us".

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not"

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them"

"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government"

"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical"

"When we get piled upon one another in large cities as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe"

All quotes by Thomas Jefferson.

The problem with health care is not the providers, but the government and insurance companies. When the government only will pay via medicare 1/3 of what is billed, provider must then charge 3 times the rate to get what they require. When on the other side government requires that everyone be billed equally, well their you have it.

When frivolous lawsuits abound to such a degree that most doctors pay more in malpractice insurance than what they take home, well there you have it.

When the government interferes and creates boundaries in which insurance companies can provide, costs rise. Not alloying companies to compete across state lines and the like raises costs and our prices.

The bill does not fix the biggest issues in health care.

1. Preexisting conditions
2. Tort Reform
3. Allowing freer competition between providers and insurers

Government entering into business of any sort other than governing is a huge conflict of interest at best. If they are so great at running the insurance industry why does medicare and medicaid suck? Why is our military health care system so poor? Why do congress and the president get special plans not available to any of us?
