Yea, you probably have the rear brace that you don't need, and don't have the one you do need!
Do you have the solid one or the one with holes drilled in it? The solid one is for motors with an overall diameter of 42mm, and the one with holes in it is for motors with an overall diameter of 36mm.
I am running a CC/Neu 2200kV motor on my RCM Revo motor-mount and the solid brace is a perfect fit! Don't forget to leave the rear brace loose until you get your mesh set and the motor tightened down, then tighten the rear brace. Also, use a longer than needed screw with a jam-nut so you can wrap a zip-tie around the motor and the part of the screw sticking out of the rear brace to secure the motor to the brace in case you land on your lid hard, it keeps the mount from flexing and screwing a lot of things up...I learned the hard way!
