Very interesting. I am currently preparing for the inevitable outcome. My fingers are sore and covered in brass dust, and I smell of various oils and solvents. I have also investigated the operating mechanisims of my various pieces of equipment and become familiar with any possible operating failures that may occur, and done drills to fix them quickly in the feild.

I will now clean my hands and do some acedemic reading on how to mix various substances to achieve volatile compositions that can be easily transported and used to great effect. I am sure that anyone in the know will understand what I am referring to.

I would suggest that everyone removes their savings from the bank, invests in a good safe (a fireproof safe that can handle small arms is a good choice) and also gets a decent canned food supply going. While this may sound extreme keep in mind that small arms will go up in value as they always have, and you can always eat canned food whenever you like. So neither is a bad choice. A thousand dollar safe may seem excessive but I put mine to excellent use, and consider it great insurance.

I would also suggest doing some casual reading on survival skills, as well as investing in some basic survival gear. Understanding terrain and the surrounding area where you live will be very useful.

As far as the current situation goes, I would suggest that you do your best to revert to cash. I know this is dfficult for those in corporate american. Ditching direct deposits and direct payments and going back to paying bills by check is a great start. Weaning yourself from the check card and going back to cash will have a double effect of saving you money and pushing companies back to cash. I would also suggest finding business that offer a cash discount (3% usually as that is what the credit companies charge business on average) and frequenting them.

Anyone who has a skill, try word of mouth advertising to make a side business. Do not advertise or pay for a license, and remember to only accept cash. This will allow you to offer a 30% discount (no taxes on money that does not exist), and save your cash in your safe. Use it to buy items that are not tracked to you, and you will be able to lower your operating costs, and thus you can lower your wages that are shown (not easy to do without running your own business). This will also alow you to put more of your "earned on paper" money towards paying off debt, and certain things such are mortgage interest are tax deductible, so you will lower your taxes.

Saving cash and cutting down your lifestyle a bit will go a long way to solving some of the issues we have here. Everyone has to do it though. So I prefer cheating every chance I get. Hard work and cunning will win out, I can assure all of you of that.
