wow.... i would hope most in this hobby were proficient at soldering. the are you want to solder is very small, just use a good clean tip and touch both pads at once (bridging it) and just dont run a switch. just do it fast with a hot iron. dont want to put alot of heat into the pcb. take your time and it will be fine. one less set of wires to worry about!

That's exactly what I have done. I have to use a bec to calibrate the esc now but I'm back in business
