Thanks...I bought it new in '96 and have enjoyed it every summer since then, except the summer after I broke my back (riding it all day still kills my back)!

In stock form, the '96 SLX780 was the fastest ski on the water in 1996 & 1997, unless one of the racers put their '96 SLX780 Pro or '97 SLX785 Pro in the water, but those didn't count because they were not production skis or even sold to the public at that time, they were only sold to the factory racers.

All of the "all-yellow" '96 SeaDoo XPs running around thought they were bad-ass until my SLX got through with them, heh! My 778cc ski beat their 910cc skis out of the hole and on top-end!

Since all Polaris skis up through '97 were powered by Fuji engines, they are the most sought after years, because the '98 and up skis were powered by Polaris-built engines and just weren't as fast, and couldn't be made very fast...not as cheaply or easily as you could a Fuji-powered ski, anyway.

Hell, it's still one of the fastest skis on the water, and it's 14 years old! The only mods to it are a Solas prop and the stock Ocean Pro carbs, which I sent to Ocean Pro and had them bore/build them. They are jetted for the stock exhaust right now, but will simply need a re-jet when the pipes get here. I might run a dry water-box after it gets piped, depending on how loud it is. If it's too loud with a dry box, I will run a modified wet box.

Anyway, I am getting the thread way off course...
