Indeed, it is quite possible on AMD processors. As far as your SATA drive goes, not sure what to do. You might try installing OSX on a large flash drive if you have one (8GB or better. 16 or 32 would be optimal) or maybe an external hard drive. If you can't get a direct install to work, you could just use a virtual machine, though it's a bit slower.
