Average, like you said buggies and truggies put more power to the ground, but they put it smoothly, without amp spikes. Don't forget that Buggies and truggies are lighter than MTs too.
When you go full throttle with a MT from 0 doing a standing backflip, you generate a strong current spike, where a buggy or a truggy will accelerate slowly due to the center diff making the front wheels spinning free without grip, so without power. So the spikes are attenuated with a CD...
For theses reasons, and considerating the weight difference I am not sure you are right.
