So, you're saying it was actually a proper skidplate for some other vehicle, and you just trimmed it down to fit your maxx? It took me about 2 seconds to realize the wheels/ axle part of the skid plate looked too perfect to be entirely home made/ made from scrap- been around too long to not recognize an off-the-shelf wheelie bar design...
BTW the axle is nothing other than a aluminum Stand off .

Scrap or junk..... from old Broken or useless items or an obsolete item with no use in its current state or configuration.

Just like this one out of a 1967 Viking Reel to Reel other than this one is longer but can be cut to size its a verry common everyday part
got like a box of this stuff and plenty of aluminum flat stock .
i just did not have the small size ruber tires that were on it that would look Proper.
thats why its not a Home made one.
so i Modified the one i had here as scrap.

no its Not homemade never sed it was..................
its a cludge setup.
and yes it was from my rc scrap box
and so was the skid plate that its mounted on.

but http://www.swami-rc.com/default.htm dont have what this one WAS

it was just a long flat UGLY skidplate that looked like it was for a Exteneded chassis as a low angle wheelie bar .
and that would Never fit on my pro 15 so i did some cutting and shapen its still not 100% complete but works good for now.
it keeps the bumper off the ground.
