Yeah, I used a 3ch radio (futaba faast) and ran the R servo on the 3rd chan.
You may want to consider this 1st instead of a simple Y. The problem is that the rear servo must be in turn in the opposite direction as the front. If you use a simple-Y, the truck will just turn all wheels the same way and crabwalk. Also, I set my rear str for much less travel than the front for better controlability, as full travel really kicked the back end out hard.
The other solution would be to mount the servos on the same rail and reverse the servo saver rack. Only problem with that is that the Savage's servo saver posts are not symetrical and cannot just be reversed left to right. You would have to come up with a different servo saver to do it. Not impossible, just easier to have a 3ch and control everything from the radio
