The 1717 just fits in the rear position, but i think you are limited to gearing. You wont be able to get the motor close enough to the spur. Might need to get some big pinions and big spurs. Take a look at this http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=500695

By the way i got a 1527 to fit into a G3R carbon mounted on a CD
