Personally, I prefer a wired connection whenever possible. I ran a network cable from the basement (where my modem/routers/switches are), across the joists, and up through the walls to a CAT5 receptacle plate for each room in the house. This may not be feasible in your case though.
My wife (using a Mac) and son (laptop) use wireless, otherwise I would have disabled wireless altogether.

I feel ya on that one. I mean I get how convenient having wireless in the house is, but dealing with all of this crap is just a big PITA to me. I agree if I can figure a way to do temp wiring around this house we will only use wireless for I-Pods and thats it.
