I don't understand this. I looked at the manual and it appears that the connector with the yellow wire JUST has that one wire in it, and it's a signal wire, not power or ground. What happens if you don't look it up? Hooking it to an unused CH3 receiver input seems redundant.
From your directions, it appears that the red/black/white cable carries the corrected servo signal and power and ground.
I could understand the need for the yellow wire if
that was the one that needed to be inserted into CH1 (steering).
