My 1717 does heat up quickly when it spends a lot of time at 35k+rpm though. After bashing (and/or speed runs) the motor usually comes off at 160°F, and my ESC 130°F at the very most. Geared more conservatively, this will make silly amounts of power in the heavier Savage frame and still remain in the temp limits.
That's good to hear. The 5SC conversion COULD be upwards of 18-20lbs but I'm really hoping to keep it around 16lbs if possible. I will definitely not be geared for 70mph though. 50mph will get me in plenty of trouble
