Yes thats true. But you could use some sort of housing around the 6 wire's. I don't know, if you screw up the solder job you need to take the heatshrink off and resolder the wire's. Not to mention soldering close to the esc is not a very good thing I recon. The wire may get so hot that the solder on the esc board might come loose. Or damage other component's.
