I'm pretty sure a Castle 1717 has more power and stays cooler than those Tekin motors. In my opinion, Tekin recommends such low kv values because otherwise their motors would just melt down. At least from what I saw on a track, Tekin motors were maxed out in a Truggy geared for 60kph on 4s. I don't think that's going to work on 6s geared for more speed in a heavier car.
I know the general consent is lower kv = cooler/better, but I can say I have ran Castle 1717 1650kv and Castle 1515 2200kv on 6s in different cars and these motors work great on 6s.
Or a TPPower 4070, Dr.T has it in his Truggy and it seems to be on par with the 1717.
Leopard 4082 and 4092 don't compare, Dr.T tried them, always ran hot.
Regarding driveability: Castle ESCs have a Torque control feature which works great for me. It can make a Savage on 6s actually driveable :) As far as I've read Tekin ESC have something similar, but I haven't tried Tekin myself.
What's a little annoying though with the Mamba Monster is that it cogs a little depending on setup (seems to get worse with higher gearing, heavier wheels/vehicle or load on the motor).
Oh and the Mamba Monsters dont burn anymore, that was only the first two or three revisions, now they got it reliable. I would guess Tekin has fixed their problems also, these burning issues were some years ago.
