Tranny is fine with an aluminum idler. I still have not ever stripped a stock differential although the planet gears inside the differential I have stripped a couple times. You can get a steel differential but I never found the need. I have run lehner 4200,5300,Hv maxx and Novak SS all in these trannies all is I have to do is put an aluminum idler gear in.

I am sure I will strip a differential sooner or later or wear out an aluminum idler like some people have but I drive alot and it still hasn't happened.

The biggest problem I have with the drive train and my brushless setups is stub axles and half shafts. These break ALOT. I keep a whole bunch on hand and they are cheap but I usually breaK one or the other every few runs or so and I am really considering trying some type of dogbone or CVD setup soon. Good thing is stub axles and shafts are easy to fix but if I were racing it would be annoying.
