Motor for XXXS G+ - 06.20.2006, 10:17 PM

Hi all.

Buying an XXXS G+, want to make something of a rocket out of it.

I'm planning on using 2S Lipo or 6-7 cells most of the time, with 3S Lipo for insane speed runs.

How does a 380C-8t sound? I know on 3S it would be rather hot, but just for speed runs i figure it would be ok. What kind of speeds could i expect on 2S with that? I think 3S should push it over 60 mph if i have the space/control/surface for it, but in practice i think such speed and power is unusable.

I was going to run my Nemesis 6S but i think thats just too much motor for it, and it's also pretty bulky (not to mention the lack of runtimes this motor will run). To be honest, i think i will sell that motor (if anyone wants it, 5mm shaft with 3 pinions...shoot me a PM).

What i want from this is a replacement for my rather old Nitro tourer. Would it be better to go with maybe a 7 or even 6 turn version and not bother with running 3S for speed runs? I think i would prefer the runtimes and slightly added torque of the 8 turn though - but then it might be too much torque for 4 skinny TC tyres? Could the 7 be a better choice?

So far i think the 380C-8 should be a nice choice, but i just wanted to check with you gurus before i spend the money. The 5000ish RPM/Volt rating should give me a nice balance of high speeds with mind bending acceleration i hope?

lol help me out here :)

- Tom
