Well, there will be a
little play, but if there is too much, the rotor may slide forward while spinning, and then smack back again when it stops or decelerates (or vice versa).
I'd be more concerned about the rattling personally. I'd send it back to Mike before you try prying off the endbell unless he says it's OK to do so.
