Just have to keep the mesh correct. The only real downside is, you can't dial in any slip at all, or the gear will melt. Use 12 pegs and crank the spring down, it should hold up. And spur gears are not hard/expensive to replace.

Thanks Dafni. I had the stocker with the emaxx w/ full pegs and cranked down spring. It didn't ever melt, but I really don't like driving trucks with no slip. It just seemed really hard on the whole drivetrain with so much instant TQ. When I did have some slip, if it wasn't done carefully, the slipper would get really hot and was nearly melting the spur.

A simular thing in my Bl rusty. I do have slip in there, but any time I overtighten it, zzzzzzz goes the spur. They are easy and cheap to replace, but extremely annoying and can quicly end a good bash session.

The point looks moot for me however, it looks like I've been able to get a hold of a strobe. :) I like the idea of mech brakes, but the brake servo/ batt mounting issue is enough for me to just go with the maxx tranny. If I had lipos I could see going with the revo tranny, but I have lots of NIMH, so the "Dafni" :027: style setup seems the best for me now. I'll keep the revo tranny maybe for a while and see what I like, I could always change it if I really don't like it. I'll keep y'all posted!
