Well, that's probably not a capacitor. Judging by what happened and the fact that it's burnt, I'd say that was a resistor or a diode. I tried to look at
another picture of that component, but can't make it out. However, since there is a band at the end, I'd guess it's a diode.
By the way; simply replacing it, even with the right part, may not fix it. Another device may have blown as well (although not visibly). If you replace it with the proper device, you still have a chance it won't work.
