That makes sense in a way since current in a car is quite peaky. OK, so a few more FETs and maybe some heavier circuit traces. Then add new firmware. Still seems a little unbalanced price-wise.
A perfect example is the Quark 125B. There is the air version that is quite a bit cheaper than the car version, but both look exactly alike. I wonder what the inside of the air one looks like...
