I've gotten about 10 minutes on the truck. It stopped raining and I ran it 5 minutes in a friends gravel driveway. I ran it on some wet concrete and in the house on the carpet.
Up to this point I have never seen a nitro truck run nor have I driven one. I have neither saw a stock Emaxx run on lesser batteries nor driven it that way either. My only real experience with a r/c vehicle is a Associated RC18T. I have one. It was stock for a while, now its brushless on 3 cells, mamba 5400. From this perspective Im a little "spoiled".....ok maybe a lot. So what did I expect from this truck? Really only what Ive read.
So, I expected wheelies and perhaps in 2nd gear(base off the maxxamps site). This does not seem to be the case, but I think that is mostly because of tire slip. But even on the carpet in the house It wasnt like I could wheelie at will. From a dead stop or reverse to forward yes. 1/4 throttle and punch it, not really. But again I think the tires are spinning quite a bit. I don't forsee 2nd gear wheelies with any tires on any surface once its rolling, I could be wrong though.(yes, the tires are glued)
Had I not had a brushless mini I would prolly be a lot more excited. It will pull wheelies or backflip nearly at will, regardless of surface or tires or speed. Its just stupid power and is so small and light. This definatly is going to lead to a brushless monster experience in the future.....Don't get it wrong I do like the truck and am happy with it. Just not quite up to the hype as far as the batteries go, but I have a lot more driving to do before the verdict is in.:dft012:
