First off was the motor and ESC. Everything went in easy except for the motor. I am still using the stock tranny since I cant find a single speed conversion, and I found that the can on the motor was hitting the tranny case and I couldnt get the proper gear mesh. Quick easy solution was taking the dremel to the fins that were hitting the tranny case. Problem solved.
During this step I also found that the stock spur gear cover no longer fits due to the strobe slipper. To solve this I just cut the face off the stock one and used some CA and polycarbonate and made it a little bigger.
The only problem with the ESC was finding a spot where I wanted to mount it. My own decision was to mount it where the stock Rx used to be. I used a dremel to cut out the sections of the chassis I needed to get rid of to give it a nice fit then held it on with some double sided tape.
To cool the ESC I just glued a 40mm fan to the fins and wired it to a 9V batt that I have stuck to the tranny case.
