Pah, thats nothing. There must be a million threads on the traxxas forum, all asking "what am best battery?"....

RCM is the best.

I do get a little bit 'exasperrated' as someone once said... I dunno, I help a dozen or so people out with their FAQs, then a day or two later it starts allover again with exactly the same questions. I need to add a FAQ page to my website with some plain-english explanations, then all I will have to do is point the kiddies in that direction each time- no more typing drawn out answers as to how many volts the VXL or MM esc will do, or what a MOD1 pinion is and where to buy them..... god help me.

I feel your pain Neil.
How about the guy yesterday wanting to know if he would need to upgrade the drive train if he runs a single VXl in his e-maxx on 4 cells. I told him his first problem is that the VXL won't work on 4s. His reply was "no 4 cell nimh" ...Take a deep breath, and slowly move the cursor to the top right of the screen. Now click on the little square with the cross in it and go back to rc monster.

Kinda the same reason I built the various speed calc pages; you get the same "what gearing should I use", "what is a UBEC", "how do I wire XYZ", etc questions over and over and over again, and you KNOW they've been answered a bazillion times before.

Granted, a noob might find BL a bit overwhelming at first what with the jargon and such, but if they would just read the stickies, understand what they read, and then do some searches for a similar setup as theirs, 95% of the questions would be answered. And then the forum would be easier to search because it wouldn't be littered with useless posts.

A main problem with the "kiddies" is that they want everything handed to them. They just want the baddest stuff around with no work or learning, and at cheap prices.

Speaking of the "other forum"; if I see one more "dual VXL setup", I'm gonna scream!

Haha! If you don't like dual VXL talk you won't like the recent threads of people saying a single VXL on 3s has more power than you can use in a maxx, plus it runs cool and has the longest run times, much better setup than a XL on 4s. Oh, and one VXL on 6 cells in a maxx is faster, has more torque, has longer runtimes and runs cooler than the stock titans on 14 cells.

That's why I quit spending much time over there a long time ago. It doesn't change - same thing was going on 5yrs ago when I was active. The ones that do manage to develop some maturity just get replaced by others who are pretty much clueless.

+1

I quit the Traxxas forum a few years ago when I sold my Stampede. The only time I ever go there now is to look at the For Sale threads.

Anyone remember the old maxxtraxx board? Back in the early days of Brushless that was the "PLACE". I still miss it.

But despite ALL those threads on the traxxas forum, probably only about 500 are something other than "what is the best...etc"
