Post Big Heavy Aluminum Emaxx Needs Bl Motor Sytem Recomendations - 11.28.2005, 11:28 AM

I have an Emaxx that is totally aluminum and very heavy. I want to add two brushless motors and one good speedcontrol. I hand an HVmaxx. It was pretty good. Allot of torque in 2wd. I want more torque and more speed. I need recomendations. I want to maxx this truck out.

Welcome to the RCM board, JCUEVAS. No need to yell, though ;)

I would advise against a dual setup. Single BL is better in all aspects. More efficiency and relability. Dual is only for looks.

How many cells do you want to run? And what is your goal, speed or runtime?

what yellin' Daniel? ;p

Welcome to the boards though!

A single bigger motor will run more efficient.

a 9XL on 20cells is about 2-3 times as strong than one HV-maxx.

Got pics/specs of your truck? because you got aluminium trucks and aluminium trucks.. What does it weight? how fast you want it to go?

That is a heavy truck if it is 20 lbs. Is that a guess or weighed? If you have no other way of weighing a bathroom scale works to give you a estimate. Weigh your self with and with out truck. At 20 lbs you going to nee d a big motor.

I can not open the pics. What program do i need to open it.

Peace!

20 lbs... Holy crap and I thought my full alum truck was heavy. But it looks awesome, nice ride.

9920 and 9xl on 20 cell's will give you enough speed.

Yeah, it can't really weight 20 lbs, my aluminum savage weights less, with 18 cells. (and a savage is heavier build than an emaxx) and i used pretty heavy stuff, and this e-maxx is not using 1/8th diffs. (not that i am proud of her weight....) weight sucks.. :p

Do as Country discribed, with the bathroom scale.

The setup i would use on a truck, is a 7-8XL with a 9920, you can use it with 12-18 cells and it will be plenty fast. (and if you just want more torque than your current setup, the 7XL on 12 cells would out perform this hvmaxx.

And you really need other wheels with a strong BL setup, it will shred the hex pretty quick too.. (cant really tell, those rimms look like the orion freshkicks.. the spinners are kind of in the way.. :) )

AND, against some stupid rumors, will be just as smooth as the weak ...er, sorry, mild sensor system.
