My Jammin - 10.07.2008, 08:43 AM

Hey Guys, seen as though this is my first build and this conversion is what brought me here just thought I'd post up my nearly finished X1CR.

Previously had 4s packs running bec (4 runs before ffactory666 taught me all about kv and "s" and that I needed 6s) but just went to 6s and Rx pack. New battery trays are getting folded as we speak so please forgive the elaborate use of cable ties......I just had to try it out you know?

New wing fitted today and freshly airbrushed patriotic Aussie green and gold body. Hope I'm not stepping on toes with the A main stickers, if I am please tell me and I'll remove all reference in the post

Any suggestions, ideas, stuff I've done wrong....feel free to openly critique the build

Looks good. How is the Quark working out for you? It must have tons of torque with the outrunner.

So far so good lutach, puts down power instantly. Have had a kinda glitching problem with it randomly going to reverse after hitting the anchors a couple times a pack (posted in another thread) but no ideas yet......

The glitches might be because of your ESC Rx wire is right next to the outrunner. Try moving it away a bit and use a ferrites ring/bead to eliminate some noise.

Awesome.

I was going to ask what a ferrites ring/bead was then I realised I took this random looking grey round thing off the esc->Rx wire when I did the opto mod. That it?

If you still have it, put it back on and move the wire away from the motor.

Ran 67.57kph today with 16t pin all temps still within acceptable range.

Put the ferrite band back on and shifted the esc-rx wire and still has the horrible glitch. Might get in touch with the local quark importer.....

Does this glitch affect the servos too? Could it be just bad stuttering from the ESC trying to spin the outrunner? I know Quark has a setting just for outrunners.

Every quark I have seen on 6s had that glitch. Im surprised you have actually got it runable really.

Doesn't affect steering but that could be cause I'm running an Rx pack? I'm pretty sure I had it on outrunner mode, well it was on 4s but I had to do a reset to get all the programming options when I went to 6s for some reason? Might have another look at it.

Whats the wide and narrow power settings mean exactly? Apparently widening it can help cogging issues. I think I've got it second widest setting atm, might also try a setting or two either side.

Just slapped together a quick vid of it's first run today, will post the link when I get it up on youtube. Apart from the occaisional reverse glitch I'm pretty bloody happy with it actually.

Cheers,
Clip

Vid can be found here. Nothing flash, speed runs on grass, a few temp checks and gps evidence of top speed.

Oh, and proof the quark runs 6s relatively hassle free
