Browsed his site. Lazy link for google translated version. It looks like it'll be both. Hes got quite a few hop ups for sale and he is also selling the custom 1/5th scale. It also says hes planning on taking the 1/5th scale to competitions this year, so I think we'll see the whole thing soon. The main site mentioned an offroad in development as well!

Judging by the last pictures posted he might simply have connected the 2 6s batteries in series (and not in parallel as he posted). Leading to a motor RPM of around 44000rpm and to a top speed of 148km/h (92mph). Could have been too much while starting up the motor for the mighty 300A Schulze.

He was told by Schulze to use 4 instead of 2 6s lipos. Maybe voltage drop was to high for the ESC (His batteries should be able to supply up to 250A when connected in series and up to 500A when paralleled). If he really connected those batteries in series with this kind of gearing he sort of was asking for troubles.

If he did run this setup with paraleled 6s batteries i wouldn't have expected the ESC to burn as gearing would have led to a top speed of only 75km/h (46mph).

A speed level of 148km/h (92mph) for sure is doable with his choice of motor and ESC but amp draw would be huge with only 6s. As rhylsadar suggested in the above mentioned rcuniverse thread - wiring the motor in star config would be a solution. This would drop motor KV by a factor of 1.73 -> 578kv. Enabling him to use his batteries in series, lowering amp draw and resulting in a more appropriate top speed of 85km/h (53mph) to start this setup with.

I really was sorry when i red his ESC burned.

That thing is AMAZING! I wish I had access to a CNC and CAD like that. Id be in my cave making crap 24/7
