car: xray xb8 ec
conversion: rc-monster motor mount
custom battery tray
motor medusa 3660 - 1600
esc: MMM (chopped)
battery: 5000 zippy 4s 25c
gearing: 8,63 : 1
weight: 7lb 15oz (d*mn, do i love metric)

I didnt go with the monster tray because I wanted the battery to stay clear off the mudguards. Gladly the xray has just enough center diff offset to achieve that. Even 5s zippies should fit. The tray was machined from delrin. After my bad expierience with the hobbywing 80 a esc I switched for a MMM. But I have to say that the case is a joke. The first wrong landing from a jump the thing popped open. Plus the top cage kept collecting small stones. So I chopped the top off and sealed it with shoe goo. With this mild setup I should be ok without the fan. The motor only revs around 24 k rpm but with the gearing its fast enough for me (and the track I intend to run on). First I had a 3660-2000 (geared for around the same speed) but it felt too hot with more power than I needed. So I switched for the lower kv motor. I didnt have a chance to do real temp and runtime tests yet but I hope it will be ok.

I wanted to thank everybody at this forum for being such a great help.
Any suggestions and comments are welcome.
