MMM on 2s? - 12.21.2009, 12:03 PM

Hey guys,

I was just wondering how an MMM would run on 2s in a light vehicle paired up with a Neu 1509 1.5D. I'm looking at picking up a used stadium truck with that setup from a guy, if nothing else for the motor and speed control. (I have an erbe I could use the mmm as a back up for). Just curious though, will the MMM run ok on 2s, and would that setup be ok for the truck as is? If so I may leave it together and tinker with it. If not, I'll just keep the motor for another project and have a back up esc. Either way, let me know.

Thanks guys.

The MMM will work just fine on 2S.

Thanks Patrick! That was quick haha. So does that motor / esc combo seem ok in a light stadium truck? I believe its like a 4400 kv IIRC. Was planning on running it on 2s if I kept the combo together.

That motor is perfect for a ST IMO. Being 2WD and light, they don't need a whole lot of power unless you are geared extremely high.

Just for your information, I use a CC4600 motor on my e-Jato and it runs great. The 4600 motor is not even close to the power of a Neu 1509.

Cool, thanks brian! Believe I'm gonna toss a radio into this thing and give it a run when I get it. Should be a blast. The best part is, its going to be a straight up trade for a nitro touring car I never use anymore. Castle has converted me to electric! haha

The 1509 may even be overpowered for a light 2wd ST. I have a 1506 1Y in my Rustler and it absoltely flies. It has the "spunk" and fun driving characteristics of my old Caslte 5700 motor and MORE torque than a Traxxas Velineon all the while running much cooler than both motors. After 40-50 minutes zipping up and down the street on 3s (50-60 MPH geared for offroad bashing on larger tires) I got mine up to 150 and had to stop to let my MM cool down

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

I imagine overpowered shouldn't be an issue, seeing as how I have a castle link. Should be fine just dialing in punch control and reducing the power I would think. Guess we shall see!

I would rather have too much power and have to turn it down than not have enough.

What do you guys think of 129 mph in a shumacher onroad car with a neu motor and a mmm esc on 3s. I saw nic case do it and couldn't believe it. To bad the car wasn't in the competition he would of definatly broke a record. I guess he was just testing his velodrone car out.
