Normally we don't handle the HPI versions of the controller. It is setup so they handle all repairs, replacements and support of the HPI branded controllers. We don't have a problem doing a non-warranty replacement, we just can't handle any warranty replacements.
Go ahead and go through the normal Castle repair process at
www.castlecreations.com/repairs. At the end of the process there is a form you fill out with a section for additional information. Just put on there that you would like it replaced and that you spoke with me in tech support. We'll get it replaced for the standard $70.00 non-warranty fee, which includes the replacement controller, shipping back to you and a new one year warranty from date of replacement.
