blur problem - 03.16.2010, 02:15 AM

if i need support for an out of warranty blur esc, what can i do? can i exchange the blur for a mamba monster esc through the castle trade in program/out of warranty repair service? I wouldn't mind paying the 50 or 75 dollars but i have not heard if i can even do this. anyone else had a similar experience with the blur?

i'd say there would be no problem as long as it is in fact a castle ESC with HPI's gay little badge on it

ya savage flux hp, its a rebadged mamba monster, just its called a blur in the flux. even works with the castle link and castle software.

i had a problem today getting it to work, went over a jump and now the esc won't engage. it powers up the fan spins and then it just sort of dies. no smoke or anything but no power output either. no power to servo or motor, and it won't connect to the computer anymore. i'm thinking i fried it but its out of warranty (i plastic dipped it) and am hoping they will replace it under their flat fee repair service plan. just not sure because blur is not listed on the page.

Give Castle a ring- they should be able to sort you out via the non-warrenty repair/replacement service.

Normally we don't handle the HPI versions of the controller. It is setup so they handle all repairs, replacements and support of the HPI branded controllers. We don't have a problem doing a non-warranty replacement, we just can't handle any warranty replacements.

Go ahead and go through the normal Castle repair process at www.castlecreations.com/repairs. At the end of the process there is a form you fill out with a section for additional information. Just put on there that you would like it replaced and that you spoke with me in tech support. We'll get it replaced for the standard $70.00 non-warranty fee, which includes the replacement controller, shipping back to you and a new one year warranty from date of replacement. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this process.
