New Product: Quick Connect -
06.14.2010, 11:33 AM
We now offer the Quick Connect for more convenient adjusting of the controller settings. The quick connect is a special harness that allows you to keep the speed controller plugged into the receiver when connecting to the Castle Link or Field programmer. It has an extra 12" servo lead that can be placed wherever it is convenient to plug in the link, while your speed controller stays connected to the receiver. No more digging into your setup to get to the receiver just to change a setting. This is also very helpful when downloading logged data from controller's capable of data logging. http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...k_connect.html

SWEET! I was hoping something like this would come up!, I had tried to just run a y harness off my rx, but fried my castle link because it was powering my servo and rx :)

Good idea Thomas! Looks like a perfect item for people that program their ESCs often.

That will make adjusting settings at the track WAY easier, there have been times where I wanted to make a small punch or throttle curve change and havent done it because I didn't want to tear into the rx box to get the rx plug out. That will come in very handy.
Does it come with a little cover over the exposed lead to keep the gunk out?

Nothing on the extension side. I'm sure with some clever ingenuity, you could find something to slip over it to protect it from dust while not in use. I'll bring this up in the next Tech Support/Engineering meeting and suggest we find some to cover it for car applications. It was intended for aircraft use, with the ICE controllers in mind. You have to dig inside the fuselage or pull apart half a helicopter to get the the receiver on a lot of setups; and with the data logging capabilities, people were having to do this quite often.
It does include heatshrink to cover the connection between the quick connect and the ESC's receiver wire. This prevents it from popping apart and losing contact with the receiver.

Was just a random thought on the cover/protector for the exposed end. Not nescessary but would be a nice touch. What about a cover that has 2 way tape on it that you stick to a nice accessible spot and then you just pull the wire out of the connector when you want to program. It will keep the connector clean and stop the wire from flopping around too. Then again you could always use a piece of electrical tape or something on it.

Woohoo, been needing this since the beginning. This will be especially helpful for those with receivers inside an electronics box.
Thanks Thomas!

A cover is easy. Just take a female servo connector, cut the wires off (leave the pins though to help keep the plug in place), dab some hotglue or shoegoo on the end where the cut wires are, and then heatshrink it to make it look pretty. 1 minute solution max (not including time to heat up the hotglue or gather the materials )

lol, I was rather surprised to see such a simple request from a forum known for modding anything as needed to get things to work. Yeah, we can make our own motor mounts, but can't come up with a teeny cover???

Yah I know, I was thinking about it and thought, hmm that would be a nice touch for castle to include to finish off a great product, I only added the rest of the thought because Thomas said he would bring it up at the meeting.

is this just a Y extension with some diodes in the receiver line to prevent the castle link from powering the receiver?
