Will the Mamba Monster handle this motor? - 11.28.2010, 08:01 PM

Hi Guys, I'm converting my Lauterbacher to Brushless, and have ordered the following motor LEOPARD 5692/1340KV, I'd like to know if the MM will handle this motor on 6S.
  • Model: LBP5692/3D
  • Max Amps: 110A
  • Lipo Cell: 4-8s
  • Max Power: 5500W
  • KV(RPM/Volt): 1340KV
  • Resistance: 0.0046
  • No-load Current(15V) : 4.1A
  • Diameter×Length (mm): Φ55.8×92

I'd prefer to get the Mamba XL, but can't find anywhere to buy & haven't had an email reply from Castle Creations.

Regards,
John.

The XL is not avail just yet, to bad.

If you run 6s and the overall weight is under 15lbs you shouldn't have any problems.

I'm running the Castle 1717 1500kv (same diamentions) and MMM on 6s in a 15lb MT with zero issues I see it no different.

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

Thanks!

I will have to see how light the chassis is once I remove the exhaust, motor, fuel tank, etc.

I was originally going to buy an OKHobby 150a ESC, but would much prefer something with support & a proven brand.

Cheers,
John.

Very wise of you on brand choice.
What platform is it you have, F1 the buggy ?
That motor alone will weigh nearly 2lbs and the same if a large mah Lipo, thats nearly 1/3 of the weight already.
